Species Description and Notes

Notes: Spherical sponges living on lagoon sediments, relatively small (those seen were max 3-4 cm in diameter), heavily fouled by algae and covered by silt, which hide the internal yellow color. A few round apertures (oscule or pore fields) irregularly scattered. It is distinguished from the other Cinachyrella species by having rhaphide spicules (thin hair-like).
